In this memorandum, Ginnie Mae announced they are revising the Institution-wide Capital Requirements in the Mortgage-Backed Securities Guide, 5500.3 Rev-1 (“MBS Guide”), Chapters 2 and 3 for financial institutions seeking approval as Ginnie Mae Single-Family, Multifamily, Manufactured Home, and Home Equity Conversion Mortgage MBS (“HMBS”) Issuers (“Applicants”) as well as existing Ginnie Mae Single-Family, Multifamily, Manufactured Home and HMBS Issuers (“Issuers”).

South Carolina to Rescind Interim Remote Work Guidance for Mortgage Originators

The South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs has indicated that the interim regulatory guidance that allowed mortgage originators to work remotely from unlicensed locations will be rescinded effective January 1, 2023. Starting January 1, 2023 mortgage loan originators licensed in South Carolina by the Department of Consumer Affairs must work from licensed locations.
